Picnic Areas


Summer is the ideal time for picnics and barbecues and State forests are great locations.


Serviced picnic areas complete with barbecues, tables and toilet facilities are scattered throughout the forests. If throwing out a rug is more your style 'however' the choices are endless.

Whether its by a lake, stream, secluded forest setting or amongst the tall stands of timber, there is always somewhere worth stopping for a picnic.

Make it a day out for the whole family, including your dog. Dogs are welcome in most State forest areas. Taking your own kindling and wood can make your barbecue easier to start or even better take your gas barbecue along. Remember to always tend your campfire and make sure it is out completely when you leave.
