A field of nearly 350 mountain bike riders pedalled and panted their way around State forest in the North East for the annual Blue Dragon Challenge in its third running. The overall event was won by interstate pair Neil van der Ploeg, from Mount Beauty in Victoria, and Peter Hatton, of Sydney.
Forestry Tasmania kicked off its celebrations for the United Nations International Year of Forests 2011 with an open day at the ‘forest in the city’ in its Hobart headquarters on 25 January.
