Smoke Management In The Landscape Forum
The FFIC hosted a community forum focusing on Smoke Management in the Landscape' on Wednesday 25 February 2009 at the University of Tasmania’s Dechaineux Theatre at the Centre for the Arts (Hunter St Hobart) and was officially opened by the Minister for Forests the Hon. David Llewellyn MHA. The forum was moderated by Greg Barns.
This was the first of several fora being planned by the FFIC to run throughout 2009.
Each forum will be designed to stimulate science based discussion on forest-related topics and will include a range of high profile speakers followed by a Q&A session.
Speakers for the 'Smoke Management in the Landscape' forum provided the opportunity to hear of the latest approaches being developed by regulators, scientists and land managers to better manage and ultimately reduce the impacts of smoke in the rural and urban landscape.
