Potential Effects of Climate Change on Forests and Forestry
Wednesday, August 24, 2011:Report: Potential Effects of Climate Change on Forests and Forestry (Summary for Tasmania). This is a summary of a more detailed assessment on the potential effects of climate change on wood plantations and related industries in Tasmania (ABARES 2011b).
That more detailed assessment, in turn, is part of a larger assessment that projects the potential effects of climate change on forest growth in six regions across Australia and estimates the effects of those changes on wood production, the forestry and forest products industries, and the communities dependent on those industries.
The assessment also identifies opportunities for adaptation to such effects. This is one of six regional summaries; a seventh document synthesises the study’s overall findings.
