The New Forest Industry

Plantations

PlantationsThere's been widespread debate about the clearing of native forests to make way for plantations.

Our State's largest forest managers have all announced an end to the broad-scale conversion of native forests to plantations.

Now when wood is harvested from our native forests, it's simply replaced with native forest.

Seeds are collected during harvesting and are re-sown to grow naturally over the long term.

Tasmanians can be proud of the efforts made by the New Forest Industry.

Not content with being a world leader in forestry and conservation, we are continuing to apply fresh thinking to everything we do.
