Going Bush

Going Bush, a television series about Australia’s southern forests and the people who manage them.

Hosted by likeable larrikins Nick Duigan and Andrew Hart of Hook Line and Sinker fame, Going Bush aired on Southern Cross Television in regional Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and Tasmania. In past series, screened only in Tasmania, Nick and Andrew have focussed on the management of Tasmania’s spectacular forests, but this year, to celebrate International Year of Forests, they have crossed Bass Strait to see what VicForests is up to.

Late last year Forestry Tasmania asked viewers what they would like see covered. Viewer recommended topics in this series include four wheel driving and how to get unstuck in the mud, threatened species, with the giant freshwater crayfish the star of the show, specialty timbers – how they are managed and the beautiful products produced from these timbers, and the old bush craft of shingle splitting.
