If fast flowing rivers and waterfalls, or peaceful meandering streams and temperate rainforest or wet eucalypt forests is what you seek, then these forests are for you.

Arm River Education Reserve

 

To get to Arm River you turn off the Bass Highway at Deloraine and follow Mole Creek Main Road through Red Hills, Chudleigh, Mole Creek and Mayberry before it changes to Mersey Forest Road. Once on Mersey Forest Road, just follow the signs which point you down to the Arm River Education Reserve along Maggs Road.

Brushy Lagoon


Brushy Lagoon is in Northern Tassie, and if you head out through Exeter and Frankford you should find it no worries. From memory there is a sign indicating where in Frankford you turn off, if not the road is called Priestleys Lane. Follow this road until you see the turnoff sign, it is opposite a big green and white house on the left hand side. You are now in Reedy State Forest.

Liffey Forest Reserve


Liffey Forest Reserve is located just south of Deloraine in Tasmania’s North West. There is plenty of signage, so getting there is quite simple, the roads are mostly sealed, with only a short stretch of gravel to get down to the car park. Take care however, as the road to the car park is quite narrow and windy in spots.
