veneer
Veneer is the thin layers of timber sliced from a larger piece. Available in a wide range of species and grades, this versatile product can be assembled into a sheet (called a layon) that is used as the facing layer on sheet material such as MDF, or cut and assembled into patterns. Veneer is often matched with solid sawn timber of the same species in furniture, joinery and lining.
