In 2009, WorkCover Tasmania and Workplace Standards Tasmania agreed to develop a new work health and safety awareness campaign and adopt a brand to sit over the activities, WorkSafe Tasmania.

The agreement to work collaboratively on a public education campaign was due to shared organisational objectives, with the most prevalent being reducing the number of workplace injuries and fatalities in Tasmania.

The opportunity to adopt a successful workplace safety brand and advertising campaign - in addition to pooling the resources of both organisations - was an opportunity too good to be missed in the quest for raising the profile of work health and safety.

An implementation plan covering key activities was prepared and agreed to by WorkCover and Workplace Standards Tasmania in February 2010.
