Angling Licence

To fish at a Tasmanian inland water, you must hold a current Angling Licence and fish with a rod, reel and line during the angling season that applies to the water. You do not need a licence to fish at a Registered Private Fishery or if you are under 14 years of age.

Licence Conditions

It is a condition of the angling licence, that the licence holder comply with the Inland Fisheries Act 1995 and subsequent regulations and orders. This legislation can be viewed in full on-line at www.thelaw.tas.gov.au .  A summary of this legislation, as it applies to seasonal regulations, is provided in the Tasmanian Inland Fishing Code 2011-12. You can download the 2011-12 Fishing Code or pick up a copy from most major fishing tackle stores and Service Tasmania shops.

Licence Renewals

The Renewal form contains a paper licence card individually printed with the licence holder's details and the Payment number for processing.
