The UTAS Scholarships Program provides students with significant financial and academic support to study at the University of Tasmania. Awards are offered in a wide range of disciplines and selection is based on academic merit and/or financial need. They are available to students studying at undergraduate, honours, and postgraduate coursework levels.

Commonwealth Scholarship payment dates and values

Payment dates for Commonwealth Scholarships this year are expected to be Thursday 5 April and Thursday 23 August. The Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarships (CAS and NAS) are valued at $2377 per semester. The Commonwealth Education Costs Scholarships (CECS and NPS) are valued at $1188.50 per semester. Submitting an application

Our program runs on a calendar year basis. Applications for most awards commencing in Semester 1 open at the beginning of August and close strictly on 31 October in the year prior. The exception to this is scholarships for continuing engineering students, which open in April/May and close 30 June.

There is a very limited mid-year round for Honours scholarships, Overseas scholarships for domestic students, and the Indigenous Commonwealth Scholarships. Applications for these awards open in April/May and close 30 June.

Applications for most scholarships commencing in Semester 1, 2012 are now CLOSED. Scholarships remaining open for application are advertised below.
