The CRC for Forestry offered a mix of fully
funded Masters and PhD scholarships and top-up scholarships, as
well as research funding to support all CRC scholarships, and some
research funding to support other relevant PhD, Masters and Honours
projects. These scholarships were allocated to specific research
projects at particular universities.
Education track record
The CRC and its predecessors, though their university
participants, were Australia's major source of postgraduate
training for researchers in forestry for more than 20 years. Many
former CRC-affiliated students now hold key positions in industry,
regulatory agencies (e.g. Forest Practices Authority),
consultancies, and research positions in Australian universities,
CSIRO and other public research agencies.
