Biobuzz - Issue five - Professor Potts goes bush

Top: Brad discusses eucalypt ecology with Nick.
Bottom: A Southern Cross TV cameraman films Nick and Andrew discussing big trees.
Brad Potts, leader of the CRC for Forestry Project 4.2 - Biodiversity, went bush recently with Nick Duigan and Andrew Hart (of Southern Cross TV's "Hook, Line and Sinker" fame), a film crew, and managers and scientists from Forestry Tasmania (many of whom, such as Simon Grove, Marie Yee and Tim Wardlaw are also in the CRC for Forestry's Biodiversity Group). "Going Bush" is a five-episode television program produced by Forestry Tasmania and Southern Cross Television, illustrating how Forestry Tasmania is managing State Forests for multiple values. It covers a broad range of topics from threatened species, conservation, big trees and recreation to harvesting, regeneration and fire.  The series' content and style is aimed at a broad audience; it is entertaining and informative.  For a copy of the DVD, please contact Sandra at Forestry Tasmania reception on 03 6233 8203 or email
