East Derwent Highway - Baskerville Road to Cassidy Road - Road Improvements

main

Background

This section of road on the East Derwent Highway between Baskerville Road and Cassidy Road has been identified as needing safety improvements.  The Road Safety Council approved funding under the State Government's Road Safety Levy for a road improvement project for this area.

The objective of the project is to improve safety by improving the road alignment in the vicinity of the Cassidy Road junction, providing sealed shoulders on both sides of the East Derwent Highway for approximately 1.3kms, and providing basic right turn passing facilities at the Cassidy Road, Melane Road and Baskerville Road junctions.

Works will require reclamation of part of the River Derwent Foreshore.

Location of Works

The project is located on the East Derwent Highway in the vicinity of Cassidys Bay.
