South of Taranna

Location:

The project site starts just outside of Taranna, travelling south towards Port Arthur for approx 2.5kms.

Impact:

The design will consider the width of this section of road where some dips interfere with better sight distances.  Sealed shoulders could also be provided to further enhance safety.

Construction works are planned for the 2013/2014 summer season which provides the best result for road surfacing work.  This also coincides with peak tourist season.  Local tourist operators will be kept informed of the project and potential impacts.  Any works will be undertaken in accordance with an approved traffic management plan with delays kept to a minimum.  It is envisaged that one lane of traffic will be kept open at all times.

Current Status:

This project is currently in planning and design phase with construction programmed for the 2013/2014 year.  A public display on concept design is scheduled for:

Tasman Council Chambers

  • Thursday 26th July till Friday 27th July
  • Opening hours for Tasman Council Chambers are 9am till 4:30pm

Dunalley Hall, Franklin Street Dunalley

  • Monday 30th July 2012 12 noon till Sunday 12th August 2012 4pm.
  • Project Managers will be in attendance at the display on Monday 30th July from 12 noon till 4pm

Opening hours for Dunalley Hall are Mon-Sun 10am - 4pm.
