Midland Highway North of Melton Mowbray

Midland Highway - North of Melton Mowbray - Road Reinstatement

This project involves restoring the road surface on eight short sections along the Midland Highway from Melton Mowbray Junction to south of Perth.

The works involve removing the top portion of the existing road surface and replacing with new material.  The benefits of the project to road users will be greater safety as a result of the improved surface of the highway.

The project will be designed to ensure the least possible disruption to road users through the use of Variable Message Signs and carefully planned staging of the works.  The works will be undertaken on one side of the highway at a time with one lane of traffic remaining open during working hours.  Speed restrictions and altered traffic conditions will also be required and short delays to the travelling public may occur.

This project is wholly funded by the State Government.

Current Status

The contract for construction was awarded to Andrew Walter Constructions.

It is anticipated that construction works will commence on 7 January 2013 and be completed by the end of April 2013, weather permitting.
