We are situated at 50 Main Street Ulverstone on the North West Coast of Tasmania
We house an extensive collection of records, photographs and memorabilia pertaining to the whole Central Coast District.
Our aims are to record and preserve as much information, both written, photographic and oral, pertaining to the district, and present it in a form which is usable by the general public and serious researchers alike.
It is here for the benefit of all - particularly future generations.
The interior of our museum consists of constructed facsimile shop facades - all work being done by volunteers.
This has enabled us to display numerous artifacts & memorabilia pertaining to the area's development. Where possible, authentic 19th & early 20th Century building materials have been used in keeping with a bygone era.

Our Museum was established to reflect on and display the history of the Central Coast region with emphasis on the Ulverstone Township.

The main museum building houses a collection of artifacts of local historical interest, displayed in period buildings & rooms.
The library building (the original school building from Lowana) allows for local historical research.
Our research room has a vast array of local records and photographic collection.

We hold many local records relating to Births Deaths & Marriages, Burials, Property Valuations, Assessment Rolls, Post Office Directories & Military Records.

Also for sale we have a number of our own publications as well as books of interest on local history, including photographic memoirs.
