Report Illegal Fishing

The immediate reporting of suspicious or illegal fishing activities by responsible anglers, therefore, provides invaluable assistance to the Service.

Tasmania's inland fisheries cover a vast area of the State, with many waters in remote locations. The immediate reporting of suspicious or illegal fishing activities by responsible anglers, therefore, provides invaluable assistance to the Service. Anglers can help protect the values of the fishery for themselves and future generations in this way.

Contact the IFS to report illegal fishing and suspicious activities:

  • 1300 INFISH during business hours
  • Manager, Compliance and Operations on 0438 338 530
  • Bushwatch on 1800 333000

Your call will be treated with strict confidence and respect. Apart from a description of the activity, note the time and date of the observation, location, number of people involved and vehicle/boat registration.
