Specific regulations, which apply to individual waters may vary, so it is sensible to check the regulations that apply to the particular water you intend to fish. The Fishing Code contains an index of all the waters that have regulations that are exceptions from the general rule. The general rule that applies to most inland waters is an open season in line with brown trout season, open to all methods of fishing, and with a fish bag limit of 12 and a minimum fish size limit of 220 mm.
