The Official Website of Government House Tasmania

Welcome to the official website of Government House Tasmania.

The Governor of Tasmania, Her Excellency Professor the Honourable Kate Warner AM and Mr Richard Warner invite you to explore this site.

It provides information about the Governor's constitutional, ceremonial and community responsibilities, as well as details of the Governor's program including photographs of recent events.

You will also find information on the history of Government House Tasmania which is a fine example of an early Victorian country house in neo-Gothic style and is one of the largest of its type in Australia.  Its construction was completed in 1857.

Government House Tasmania offers monthly guided tours of both the State Rooms and its gardens to members of the public.  There is no charge to attend either of these tours.  Bookings may be made at the top right hand side of this page.
