Celebrating 100 years of national parks in Tasmania – Centenary of Mount Field and Freycinet national parks

Marketing Kit

We are celebrating 100 years of national parks in Tasmania throughout 2016. While our first national parks, Freycinet and Mount Field, celebrate their centenary in August, we will be celebrating right across Tasmania during 2016.

A series of events and activities are planned. These range from special Discovery Ranger Program activities, arts projects such as the Breath of Fresh Air Film Festival and the Wildcare Nature Writing Prize, community festivals at Mount Field and Freycinet, guided walks, free entry days and other special events.

We hope to bring the Tasmanian community together to celebrate national parks as places to connect with each other and the natural environment, as places that conserve Tasmania’s unique biodiversity, and contribute to Tasmanian’s economy and way of life – places to have fun, work and undertake adventures.
