Video 1: One of the most important changes in the Education Bill is the introduction of an earlier optional starting age for Kinder and Prep. As it stands, Tasmanian children are not given the same opportunities as every other child in Australia because we have the oldest minimum starting age in the country.
Video 2: All children learn best through play based learning. The early years are critical for the development and success of our children. The Government is committed to strengthening the early years and will provide a $100 million investment in more teachers, teacher assistants, specialist staff and infrastructure upgrades.
Video 3: Changes to the voluntary school starting age will provide parents and carers with greater choice and access to early learning options. Kindergarten and Prep provide a range of support services for children and families, including access to speech therapy, social workers and psychologists.
Video 4: The change to the minimum starting age is about equity in education.
